Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Want to Read in 2015

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! As always, I am linking up over at The Broke and the Bookish, and this week is a freebie, so I take that to mean that we can pick any topic we want in order to create a top ten list. I spent some time thinking about something that would be new for me to talk about, and realized that there are a lot of new-to-me authors that I really want to read in 2015. Because of that, I decided it would make the perfect topic for me this week, and picked the top ten I hope to get to by the end of the year.

1. Rick Yancey
Books: The 5th Wave & The Infinite Sea

2. Stephanie Perkins
Books: Anna, Lola, and Isla

3. Patrick Ness
Books: The Chaos Walking Trilogy

4. Sarah J. Maas
Books: The Throne of Glass Series

5. Marie Lu
Books: The Legend Trilogy, The Young Elites

6. Cassandra Clare
Books: The Mortal Instruments Series

7. Kiera Cass
Books: The Selection Series

8. Jennifer L. Armentrout
Books: The Lux Series

9. Rainbow Rowell
Books: Fangirl, Eleanor & Park

10. Jenny Han
Books: The Summer Trilogy, To All the Boys I've Loved Before

Are any of these authors new to you as well? Any that you already love? Any others that I really need to check out?

  1. Great picks. I just finished The Selection the other week and it was pretty good. Now I'm just waiting for the sequel to be available at the library.

    1. I started reading The Selection once and really enjoyed what I read, so I'm not sure why I put it down and did not go back to it. I will probably have to start over from the beginning now because I am sure there are plenty of things I've forgotten. I hope that you can get your hands on The Elite soon! :]

  2. Nice idea for a list.

I'm interested in The Legend Trilogy and The Selection Series too. I've certainly heard a lot good about both of them and I keep seeing them so... Yeah, I might read them - once I clear out some of my other 'must-reads'. I've read a couple of books by Sarah J. Maas (the first two in the Throne of Glass series) and can say I really have mixed feelings about her writing. It seems that most people loved one and hated the other, though which one is which changes from person to person. I've also read The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare, but The Mortal Instruments have only just made it to my TBR list. (Of course I had to read the second series first...)

My top ten this week is on books I'd like to see made into movies. Here's a link if you'd like to stop by.

    1. I am really interested in reading both of them soon as well. I already have both series, so I am not sure why it's taking me so long to get to them. It's so sad, I'm so bad about just picking up books I want to read and reading them! I am interested to see what I think of Sarah J. Maas' writing though.

  3. Ahhhh so many great books hear that you NEED to read. The 5th Wave series is amazing as is the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices series. I also loved the Legend trilogy but have yet to read the Young Elites. Books I have read here that I wasn't a fan of would be the Throne of Glass series which I pretty much detest, and appear to be the only one. I also really didn't like the Selection. Patrick Ness and Jennifer L. Armentrout are two authors I definitely want to pick up soon and I even have the Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness on my shelves.

    1. I know, there are SO many of these that I should have already read, it's really quite pathetic! I have heard a couple of people lately who weren't into the Throne of Glass series, and now I'm a bit worried because it's not typically the kind of books I would read. Ah, I guess I will try it out and see what I think before I buy the whole series!

  4. My co-blogger would go BONKERS knowing you're just discovering Jennifer L. Armentrout. ;) She's obsessed. We have tons of Reviews on Armentrout's books if you're ever interested. Enjoy your reading!

    1. Haha, well I have definitely known about her for a long time, I just haven't picked up any of her books since most of them seem like stuff I would not typically pick up to read. I do intend to read something by her this year, though! I will definitely check out y'alls reviews to see if that helps me decide which one I should try out first! :]

  7. Most of these are known to me. I am really looking forward to reading something by Marie Lu though. I have heard so many great things about here, and finally got around to buying the first book in her Legend-trilogy. Can't wait! :D
