Not So Bookish News...

It's rare that I share information on this blog that does not have to do with what I'm reading at the moment, books I have already read, or something at least somewhat book related. However, something pretty great happened today; something that I have been hoping would happen for a couple of years now, so I decided that I would share it with you all. Some of my lovely readers have been around since I started this blog, so I thought you might be interested to hear!

I have been teaching at the same school for my first two years, but it is not the best place for me to be. I met some great people through the job, but I knew that I needed to be somewhere else. Last summer I interviewed like crazy, but nothing came out of it and I ended up at the same school my second year. I knew that I would be applying other places again this summer, and I was really not looking forward to the stress that comes with the process.

Yesterday I received a call from a principal at a middle school in the city I grew up and went to school, and he asked if I wanted to come in for an interview today. Of course, I said yes. The interview went well, and I was shocked when he offered me a job on the spot! He said it was the first time he has done that, and I could not be more thrilled. I am very happy to be going to work in a new school and district next year, and I think that it is going to mean great things for me.

So, that's it. I just thought I would share my good news!
