Goodreads Synopsis: Jenny Kramer knows she isn't normal. After all, not everybody can see the past lives of people around them.

When she befriends Ben Daulton, resident new boy, the pair stumble on an old music box with instructions for “mesmerization” and discover they may have more in common than they thought. Like a past life.

Using the instructions in the music box, Ben and Jenny share a dream that transports them to Romanov Russia and leads them to believe they have been there together before. But they weren't alone. Nikolai, the mysterious young man Jenny has been seeing in her own dreams was there, too. When Nikolai appears next door, Jenny is forced to acknowledge that he has travelled through time and space to find her. Doing so means he has defied the laws of time, and the Order, an ominous organization tasked with keeping people in the correct time, is determined to send him back.

While Ben, Jenny and Nikolai race against the clock - and the Order - Jenny and Nikolai discover a link that joins them in life - and beyond death.

Review: When I was looking through NetGalley and landed on Endless, I could not help but be intrigued by the synopsis. I had not really read any books that had to do with time travel before it, and that was enough to catch my attention. While I have not read a lot of paranormal, I was more than willing to give it a chance since it seemed to have so many things going for it. I am glad that I decided to read it, too, because I enjoyed it very much.

Jenny gives us an interesting and conflicted main character, which is the best kind, in my opinion. From the very beginning the reader can tell that there is something very different about her, even if we can't figure out what it is right away. She is timid, closed off from most people but her friend Tiffany, who she still hides things from in the beginning. When Jenny's secrets are revealed, it is obvious why she would want to keep things to herself.

As for the boys in the novel, there are two of them, but it is far from your average love triangle. Jenny meets Ben when her father agrees to do a renovation for Ben's mom. They stumble across some old things in the attic, including the music box which opens up a world of new possibilities and questions for the two of them. Shortly after the music box incident, Nikolai comes into the picture. The guy from Jenny's dreams suddenly there in real life, in the flesh. I love how the whole thing comes together, love how each of them are fighting their own individual battles, and they have to help one another through them.

One of my favorite parts of this book is the historical fiction that is thrown in. If you are a fan of Anastasia (even the animated movie), or are interested in the Romanov family from Russia's past, then you will be intrigued by this part of the novel as well. At the beginning, it took some time to understand what was going on, but I did like that as well. The best thing about this novel was that it was not predictable. Throughout the entirety, I had no idea what was going to happen-not with Nikolai, or the Order. Instead, the reader finds out every detail as the characters do as well.

I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the genre. Even if it might not be what one would usually read, I would suggest everyone giving it a fair chance because it is wonderfully and beautifully written. The characters are charming and conflicted, and the whole thing comes together so well. At the moment I am not sure if this novel is set up to be the first in a series, but I certainly do hope that the story might continue so that we can get more about the characters.

Rating: 4.0/5.0
